Cover any wall or fence with climbers. Climbing plants can cover a wall after one growing season only. You don’t have to worry about removing trees between the climbing plants and the fence, because the trees don’t present obstacles to the climbers’ growth. Some people use climbers as a natural “ceiling” to arbors. Some require a support, while other climbers attach to surfaces using twining stems or tendrils. Some of these plants include, wisteria, jasmine, climbing roses, clematis, honeysuckle!

Ensuring your plants are both dry and aerated is a great way to keep them healthy. Moisture on the surfaces of your plants is an invitation to pests and illness. A fungus is one of the most important and debilitating parasites for plants. Fungicidal spray treatments can contain fungi, but spraying prior to problems even developing in the first place is the best way to go about it.

Irises should be divided. Divide any overgrown clumps to increase your stock. After foliage is no longer alive, remove the flowers with bulbs. The bulbs split in your hand, then you replant them, and they will most likely flower next year. Rhizomes should be divided using a knife. Throw away the center after carefully cutting new sprouts from the exterior. Be sure to retain a sturdy offshoot on every piece that you intend to plant. For optimum viability, plant your new cuttings into the ground without delay.

As you can probably see, each of these simple suggestions is easy to implement. Use the things that you have learned here to help you make your garden better. Observe the response of your plants to the various techniques you try. If you find that it’s not working for you, try something different. While it may take time, with patience your beautiful garden will be admired by the whole neighborhood.
